Forums
Forums are the lifeblood of the gaming community. I have included just a few of what I thought are very helpful and well moderated forums on tabletop RPGs and other forms of RPGs. These also include links to related sites and are a great place to start when first learning about this community. These are also great sources to visit with questions, to meet other gamers, and to just "hang out".
1. Sugarbaker, A. (1996-2012). Rpg.net. Retrieved from http://www.rpg.net/
RPG.net is a resource for the RPG community at large. It is essentially a forum for discussing all things role-play. It is moderated and owned by Skotos Tech, and includes wikis, reviews, forums, indexes, as well as miscellaneous news and discussion. It includes a wide scope of material, though all RGP centric, and is up to date as its latest forum post.
2. The rpg site. (2012). Retrieved from http://www.therpgsite.com/
Probably one of the more bold-faced titles out there, The RPG Site is another forum resource site for the RPG community. It is more general in its scope by not necessarily limiting itself to tabletop RPGs. It lists forum threads under game discussion, campaign forums, reviews, new, help, etc. This is moderated by Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd., though the actual posts are by subscribers and members.
3. Dragonsfoot forum. (2012). Retrieved from http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/
Unlike other forums out there, this site is organized by game, rather than feed. This is a great source for classic D&D as ell as for discovering new games. This site does require registering to post and does include forums for product published by Dragonsfoot. A very useful tool, though not with as many links to other sites as other forums.
