Dungeon Generators
Creating and running a successful campaign begins with the world creation. One way to help yourself, and others, in this is by using a dungeon generator. I have included a few generators that I find useful and have been recommended by others. these are great ways to jump start a campaign, and an invaluable tool for both veteran and beginner players.
1. drow. (2009-2012). donjon. Retrieved from http://donjon.bin.sh/
A valuable resource for those playing tabletop RPGs, donjon provides generators for many of the needs of gaming masters and players alike. It is a part of the Open Gaming License and a tool for creation under the general rules of Dungeons and Dragons. The author is unknown as s/he is listed simply as "drow", a dark elf in the universe of Dungeons and Dragons, and the title of the website is an antiquated term for dungeon. It covers a wide scope of generators and calculators for all aspects of tabletop gaming.
2. Millar, D. (2012). Dave's Mapper. Retrieved from http://davesmapper.com/supporters/david-millar
Probably the most fun dungeon generator out there, Dave's Mapper is a site compiled of different map and dungeon artists, all working together to make individual tiles to be placed together to create a unique dungeon. This site provides endless combinations and is a great place to explore. The creator also has a blog and other sites linked to his page that are very helpful in the quest of any gamer.
3. Myth Weavers. (2012). Dungeon Generator. Retrieved from http://www.myth-weavers.com/generate_dungeon.php
Very simple in set up, this dungeon generator hosted by Myth Weavers offers simple tools to create a quick and easy dungeon. Though perhaps not known for the artistic quality of the dungeons, this generator uses simple drop-down menues for creating exactly the dungeon you require for your next campaign. Ths is definitely the most user-friendly site and the most simple to navigate, though probably the least imaginative.
